TEAM: Team Evolution and Management

Crisis intervention and critical incident stress management strategies and interventions can only be effectively delivered through a well-organized and orchestrated crisis response team. Team development and management skills are critical to the efficient and effective functioning of a crisis response team.
This course is designed for anyone in a team leadership position or who aspires to contribute to the organization or continued development of a crisis support, CISM, or peer support team. The program is a valuable tool in the development and maintenance of these programs. The presentation will include discussion and activities to assist participants in applying the concepts presented.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the steps in team development and design and develop an action plan
  • Identify a team selection process and identify the desired team member characteristics
  • Discuss difficult team maintenance issues and method to address them
  • List methods to keep teams resilient and healthy to increase longevity
  • Describe key skills for successful leadership for the crisis response team
